Crown Terrace Architectural House, Queenstown

About The Project

Develop the Greenfields site, including bringing electricity from 200m away, install a special septic system, water tanks and a reticulated rainwater system and long driveway to site.

To construct a high-spec architecturally designed home to a very high-quality standard of finishing.

The project won a Gold Master Builders (MB) Award for the $2M construction category.

Project Challenges & Solutions

Sourcing the Tasmanian Oak T n G ceiling materials well in advance to give it time to acclimatise onsite, and the logistics of storing carefully on a live building site. Building in a snow line area in winter proved challenging during the structural, roofing and close-in phase of the build; however, the team pulled it off.

Bring all services to the site like power, a specialist septic system, water tanks and an effective rainwater capture system provided plenty of challenges during construction.
